Gifts Of God

In the previous post, I suggested that the rewards of following false doctrine were such things as:
'worldly blessings, miracles, money, popularity,... signs and wonders, miracles, speaking in tongues, prophecy, revelation, fame, fortune, glory, power, etc.'
I would like to explain some of these a little further.  The miraculous gifts of God are present with God's servants, yet they are ever present with the "Fruits of the Spirit", and this is the identifying key.  We must have the fruits of the Spirit along with the gifts of various miracles.

Paul gives an insight into the fruits of the Spirit:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
~ Galatians 5:22-23
This means that if anyone does a miracle in the name of God, that person will also have the gifts of the Holy Spirit to give God's signature to that miracle.  Those who do not bear the fruits of the Spirit, are not of God!

This is why there will be so many led astray by the false prophets:
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, and deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast;
~ Revelation 13:13-14
There are many who travel the earth today, who perform miracles and yet promote the doctrine of the Beast, along with the fruits of the Beast:
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
~ Galatians 5:19-21
Their sermons preach against most heresies, but those preachers seem to emulate those worldly desires in their person.

In contrast, the servants of God may perform a miracle, but that miracle will always be accompanied by the fruits of the Spirit of God!

So, 'let us not be desirous of vain glory!'  Those who actually are followers of the Messiah, have crucified their selfishness and their worldly desires.

So let us always live in the ways of the Holy Spirit, and when we are called upon to exercise the gifts of God, let us walk in the Holy Spirit, producing love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, etc.
