Matthew 23 - Hypocrisy

This chapter teaches important lessons about hypocrisy, and thereby some ideas of what a good focus should be.

These are some of the things that I notice.  

The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

Some of the things that we should be avoiding:

• Saying, and not doing.
• Having others bear the burden, while not bearing the burden ourselves.
• Doing things to be seen, to be popular, famous, etc.
• Love to be called the Leader.
• Close the Kingdom of Heaven, change doctrines, tell people they cannot achieve it, etc.
• Do not go into Heaven, nor allow others into Heaven.
• Drain the widows, while pretending to be good, making long prayers, flowery, emotional talks, etc.
• Proselyte in a pretense of caring, and make the convert more evil than yourselves.
• Justify breaking covenants.
• Making things like tithing, etc., take precedence over the more important parts of the Law, like Justice, Mercy, Faith, etc.!
• Justify horrible sins in yourselves, but pick at little details in others.
• Look good on the outside, but full of sin on the inside.
• Say you would not have killed the prophets, but here you are mocking and saying evil of those sent by God.

Some of the things that we should be doing:

• Keep the Law of God.
• Bear the burdens.
• Do lots of good, do not be seen.
• Be humble, be a servant.
• Make the path strait.
• Go into Heaven, and show others how to go into Heaven.
• Care for the widows, orphans, infirm, victims, poor, etc., making sure they want for nothing!
• Proselyte, and help the converts rise further than you.
• Never break covenants!
• The important parts of the Gospel, Justice, Mercy, Faith, always come first, but we are still required to do the lesser parts of the Law as well.
• Get the sins out of ourselves, throw a cloak of charity over others.
• Clean the inside!  
• Feel, think, say, and do only good to others.  

If we are to believe the Saviour, hypocrisy is going to cause a lot of Grief.   

Best to get it out!

Core Doctrine

God loves us, and wants us to be just like Him, even better!!!

God has found out how to have Eternal Joy, and wants to share the secret with us, so we may have Eternal Joy also, even Greater Joy than what He has, than what He experiences.

All He wants is, for us to experience greater joy than what He experiences, as any loving parents want for their children.  And to do this, he has devised a plan that will get us there.

He knows that the only way to achieve this Joy is to become completely selfless, as He is! 
To never hurt others, and to always help others!

The commandments teach us how to not hurt others, nor ourselves; and,
The higher law teaches us how to help others.

You are of this value to God.

If you are this value, then all of God's children are of this value.

Everyone is of this value to God.

So, God loves us with all His heart, might, mind, and strength.
We should love Him with all our heart, might, mind, and strength.

God loves each of us as Himself,
We need to love our neighbour as ourselves.

Let us be like our Father, let us emulate Him, let us be one with Him, thereby acquiring the same Eternal Joy He has!

Doctrine Of The Beast

I am going to try to explain just an outline of the three-fold doctrine of the beast, 666.  This is just an outline, and the reader can take it further and explore the doctrine deeper.  To understand this doctrine clearly, we need to understand the meaning of the Dragon, the Beast, the Horned Lamb/False Prophet, the Woman upon the Beast, etc., but, to keep this post short, I will leave those for the reader.

This doctrine began from the false doctrine surrounding the Saviour, it is the number of a man.  The number of man is 6.  This number also applied to Yeshua when he was a man upon the earth.  The beast is the world, the desires of life here upon the earth, and Yeshua broke the false doctrine that we are lost, that this life is all there is.  That we cannot reach our full potential, and enter back into the presence of the Tree of Life.  So the dragon had to change this doctrine.

The doctrine was changed.  They started to tell lies about the Saviour, that He was a demi-god while He was alive on the earth.  This lie makes everything He does out of our reach.  Which gives rise to the false belief that we must put someone between us and God, like a pope, prophet, president, etc., which breaks the first commandment, 'Have nothing between you and God.'  It is a false doctrine, that we cannot be perfect, because Yeshua told us we could be, and He showed us how.

Then they continued with that lie, that we can do nothing, and we are only His minions and His slaves, doomed to grovel at His feet for eternity, only saved because we brag on Him, inflating His ego.  This is false, we can progress and reach our full potential, and grow up to become Gods, just like our Father!  We do not have to be content to have weaknesses, thanks to Messiah, we can overcome!

They took this lie even further, that the rewards of God are worldly blessings, miracles, money, popularity, etc., etc., this way people would only seek the rewards of this world, the Image of the Beast.

Looking at this 666 doctrine, we can easily see what John, Daniel, Jeremiah, and the other prophets were talking about.  We can easily see many churches who use this 3-fold doctrine to control and scare the masses.  So we see that they applied the number of man to God, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.  They made all three into the Son.  Or made the Son into all three, hence, 666.

False Doctrine:  
Dragon - God is beyond us, born a superhero, which is why he can overcome, and why we cannot. 
Beast - Son of God forgives everyone for nothing, no repentance.   
False Prophet - God rewards us with signs and wonders, miracles, speaking in tongues, prophecy, revelation, fame, fortune, glory, power, etc.

True Doctrine:   
Father - God came to earth as 100% human, to show us that it is possible for the children of God to walk the path back into the Light.  
Son - Grace of God applies only to those who repent, and follow what He did.  We are not lost, we can repent, overcome, and progress.  
Holy Ghost - Fruits of the Spirit (the gifts of God) are; Love, joy, peace, brotherly kindness, temperance, charity, humility, diligence, etc.  

It is so difficult to express things in English, so that people will understand, instead of pick things apart, but here it is.  The folks who are looking for Hope, that Hope is found in the Son of God, in His doctrines, which are the Doctrines of the Father, and the Holy Ghost bears witness to that doctrine.  Please believe the truth; You can repent, you can overcome, you can reach your full potential of Godhood!!!   Just follow the example of the Saviour.  Walk the path He walked.  Trust His promise that as you follow His example, you will overcome and be welcomed back into the presence of the Fathers, to take up your place among them.

Ye Are Gods

There are so many phrases of which we hear; like, rise up, become who you were meant to be, etc.  But, what do these phrases mean?  And, how do we achieve them?

The scriptures are full of examples of men and women who have touched the face of God.  And, they show how they did it; by obedience to the commandments, by love unfeigned, by purity in heart, thought, word, and deed, by that total devotion to God and His Kingdom.  

From the very beginning, it was the plan of the Gods, to pour out their knowledge upon us, and whosoever would come up, may come up, and they would make those equal to them!  

This shows the humility and love of the Gods, that all they want is for us to arise and become like them, for their children to go further than they have gone, as any loving parent would want!!!

Would God That All Were Prophets

"The genius of the Kingdom with which we are associated is to disseminate knowledge through all the ranks of the people, and to make every man a prophet and every woman a prophetess, that they may understand the plans and purposes of God."

This is a truth of God's plan; can we accept this truth?
Are you willing to be a prophet/prophetess?
Are you willing to do what it takes to be a prophet/prophetess of God, namely be nice to others, even when they are not nice to you?
Can you love God with all your heart, might, mind, and strength?

And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake?  Would God that all the Lord's people were prophets, and that the Lord would put His spirit upon them!
~ Numbers 11:29  

This doctrine has been around for a very long time!
It is our job to help all come unto Christ, to help all rise up and achieve their full potential!!!

A Foundational Doctrine!

"And there shall be no disputations among you, as there hath hitherto been, neither shall there be disputations among you concerning the points of my doctrine, as there hath hitherto been; for verily, verily I say unto you, he that hath the spirit of contention, is not of me, but is of the Devil, which is the father of contention, and he stirreth up the hearts of men to contend with anger, one with another.  Behold, this is not my doctrine, to stir up the hearts of men with anger, one against another; but this is my doctrine, that such things should be done away."

Gospel of The Son of God!

"Behold I have given unto you my Gospel, and this is the Gospel which I have given unto you:  That I came into the world to do the will of my Father, because my Father sent me; and my Father sent me that I might be lifted up upon the cross; and after that I had been lifted up upon the cross, I might draw all men unto me; that as I have been lifted up by men, even so should men be lifted up by the Father, to stand before me, to be judged of their works, whether they be good or whether they be evil; and for this cause have I been lifted up; therefore, according to the power of the Father, I will draw all men unto me that they may be judged according to their works.  And it shall come to pass, that whoso repenteth and is baptized in my name, shall be filled; and if he endureth to the end, behold, him will I hold guiltless before my Father, at that day when I shall stand to judge the world.  And he that endureth not unto the end, the same is he that is also hewn down and cast into the fire, from whence they can no more return, because of the justice of the Father; and this is the word which he hath given unto the children of men.  And for this cause he fulfilleth the words which he hath given, and he lieth not, but fulfilleth all his words; and no unclean thing can enter into his kingdom; therefore nothing entereth into his rest, save it be those who have washed their garments in my blood, because of their faith, and the repentance of all their sins, and their faithfulness unto the end.  Now this is the commandment:  Repent all ye ends of the earth, and come unto me and be baptized in my name, that ye may be sanctified by the reception of the Holy Ghost, that ye may stand spotless before me at the last day.  Verily, verily I say unto you, this is my Gospel; and ye know the things that ye must do in my church; for the works which ye have seen me do, that shall ye also do; for that which ye have seen me do, even that shall ye do; therefore if ye do these things, blessed are ye, for ye shall be lifted up at the last day."

Basic Beliefs

The first thing is:  God is real!! 

The second thing is:  A man can talk to God face to face, as one man talks to another, as one friend talks to another! 
 
But, How do we do that? 

Which brings us to the third thing:  We need to cleanse ourselves from all unrighteousness!  This means that we need to repent of all our sins, and keep the commandments.  We need to get all that filthiness out of us!! 

Fourth:  We need to covenant before God that we will serve Him.  In other words, we need to get baptized with that covenant that we will serve him, at all times, in all things, and in all places, whatsoever we shall find ourselves in!  That He may more abundantly pour out His Spirit upon us!! 

And when He pours out His Spirit more abundantly upon us, we can move to the Fifth step:  We are follow that Holy Spirit and keep serving Him, and keep getting ourselves cleansed, more and more, keep getting the wickedness out of ourselves, deeper and deeper, drawing nearer and nearer to God, Until we find that Great Day when we are baptized, for real, with Fire and the Holy Ghost, and our sins are actually remitted at that time!! 

And of course, we need to still keep going forward after that!!

My Doctrine

Behold, this is my doctrine—whosoever repenteth and cometh unto me, the same is my church.

Whosoever declareth more or less than this, the same is not of me, but is against me; therefore he is not of my church.

And now, behold, whosoever is of my church, and endureth of my church to the end, him will I establish upon my rock, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against them.  

~ D&C 10:67-69 

I love this scripture!

The Lord has His own church, and all those who repent and come to the Messiah, are His church.  Even though this is a huge order, no other qualifications are necessary.   And anyone who says so, is not of God.  Oh, how comforting!  We no longer have to wonder at all the strange things that various churches ask us to do.  All we need to do is what Yesua did; what He does!  Then we are of His church. Yet we must endure, and remain in His church.  We must maintain that repentance and stay with the Lord. 

And the promise, that if we are of His church, and endure of His church to the end, He will establish us upon His rock, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against us!
